“If a child can’t learn in the way we teach…we must teach in a way that the child can learn”

~ O. IvarLovaas ~

What we do:

We know behavior, but you know your child. We work together with YOU to figure out the WHY behind your child’s challenging behavior.

1. We determine root causes (“skill deficits”) that power the behavior and really get to know your child as a delightful and unique individual.

2. We design a comprehensive treatment plan that will make positive, meaningful changes in your life.

3. We send a team of carefully selected and rigorously trained therapists to you. They work tirelessly to implement that plan to perfection.

4. We are in constant communication all throughout. We tweak, problem-solve and collaborate because your child’s well-being and your satisfaction is ALWAYS our top priority.

5. You reap the rewards and enjoy the transformational progress!

“Everyone is a genius but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”

We’ve Got Answers to Your Questions:

What is ABA?

ABA, Applied Behavior Analysis, is a life-changing therapy that uses our knowledge of behavior and learning to make meaningful change in real-time, in real-life. By expertly using and combining scientifically-proven techniques, we teach your child to increase skills that will help them succeed while simultaneously decreasing problem behaviors that get in the way of them living their best lives.

ABA is the gold-standard of care for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. It is also very effective for people with other challenges, including ADHD, ODD, OCD, PTSD.

Who will be working with you and your child?

Your team will include both a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT)s. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a graduate-level professional who has completed extensive coursework in ABA, has accrued over 1,500 hours of supervised ABA practice, and has passed a comprehensive board examination. Your BCBA will:

  • Conduct a comprehensive initial assessment
  • Design a treatment plan with goals and services that addresses your concerns and priorities
  • Supervise your child’s team of therapists and provide intensive training and support
  • Guide you to implement strategies and goals at home
  • Review your child’s progress regularly and tweak the treatment plan to best meet your needs
  • Be your go-to contact person for any behavior concern, big or small

A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is an ABA therapist who provides services to clients under the close supervision of a BCBA. RBTs have completed basic training in ABA, including real-life practice, and have passed a certification examination. Your RBT will:

  • Provide your child’s direct therapy services devotedly, playfully and compassionately
  • Implement the behavior plan that your child’s BCBA created
  • Carefully track progress by collecting data that will be reviewed by the BCBA
How do you select your staff?

We get that entrusting your child’s therapy care to others is a big leap of faith. Our BCBAs and RBTs are carefully selected for their skills, professionalism and experience. Love of children and commitment to high-quality work are non-negotiable priorities for us. All of our team members must pass a comprehensive background check before working with children and families. Plus, everyone at Interact Therapy Services receives ongoing, intensive training and supervision to make sure their performance is top-notch.

Who do you service?

At Interact Therapy Services, we work with ALL families with children ages 1-21 who need help managing challenging behavior. We are proud of our inclusive, diverse and equitable culture and we respect and service families of all ages, colors, disabilities, ethnicities, family/marital statuses, genders, origins, affiliations, races, religions, sexual orientations and socio-economic statuses.

When and where do therapy sessions happen?

Successful ABA therapy can happen anywhere. Super-successful ABA takes the whole child in mind and happens in the times and places that make sense for you and your child’s busy life. We work with you to seamlessly integrate therapy into your home and community, and constantly re-evaluate to make sure that your child’s therapy schedule is minimally disruptive and maximally effective. That can look like an incredible ABA therapist supporting you through dinner and bedtime, discreetly accompanying you to the neighborhood playground, or running some fun and interactive activities where and when it helps most and works best.

How many hours of therapy will my child need? How long will this take?

That’s a hard question because each child is a unique individual! Depending on your child’s needs, and your goals and priorities, you can expect your child to receive anywhere between 5-25 hours of therapy a week.

While studies show that children usually need about 1-3 years of therapy to achieve the most progress and maintain their outcomes, we’ll work with you. If you’re just looking for a quick fix for something small and specific, the whole process can take as little as a half-year…But we’re pretty sure that you’ll be so satisfied, you’ll want us to stay around to help with bigger problems, too.

Do you work with my child’s daycare, school and other professionals?

Absolutely! We can work with all the significant people in your child’s life. Kids do best when everyone is involved and on the same page. Contact us to find out how we can help.

How much will this cost me?

ABA therapy is a costly program because it involves many hours of intense and individualized work from highly qualified professionals. Fortunately, ABA therapy is covered by nearly all insurance carriers, so it is completely accessible and affordable to you. We work with your insurance company and handle all the details—you’ll hardly need to think about it at all! If your child doesn’t have insurance, we can work with you to create a reasonable and convenient payment plan.

Do I need a diagnosis or insurance?

Most insurance companies require proof of your child’s diagnosis of ASD to approve ABA therapy. Don’t have it? Don’t worry! We can work with you to create a reasonable payment plan and explore other options available to you.

How soon can I get started?

At Interact Therapy Services, we know that no child has ever been helped from waiting around. We work aggressively with your insurance company, handling the entire process from start to finish while smoothing out all the hassles. Most families begin services in less than a month from their first phone call with us!
